Let us introduce ourselves

The top reason to book a cruise with Cabin Adventures is our knowledge and expertise when it comes to all things cruising. We have been following our passion and leading lifestyle groups and full ship charters since 2005.

Today, Cabin Adventures is a family run business that includes Wayne Kraushar, his son Jon, and Jon’s wife Dawn. Combined, we have over 50 years of cruising experience that we want to share with you to make your cruises the best. When we are not on ship, we are staying on top of the latest cruise news and organizing future cruises for ourselves and others. Talk to us about cruising or join us on any of our upcoming full ship charters.

Things to know

OnLine Check In

Check in opens 45 days before the sailing. To check in, you must go to your account on the cruise line website or app and enter all your personal information. This will save a lot of time at the pier. When complete, print your Set Sail/Boarding Pass and bring it to the port when checking into the ship. If you can’t print your SetSail/Boarding Pass, you can also find it on the cruise line app or take a screen shot of it. Make sure you don’t forget your Passport!!

Cruise Documents

Approximately 15-30 days prior to sailing, your cruise documents will be available under your account on the cruise line website. The cruise document includes your cruise summary with arrival and departure times, information on required travel documents, the port address and pier identifier with parking information, luggage tags, and other important information. Make sure you take the time to read your cruise documents.

Muster Drill

A muster drill is a mandatory safety exercise with the objective to familiarize all guests with the location (muster station) where they are to assemble in the unlikely event of an emergency, as well as additional safety information. Through the cruise line app, the muster drill has never been easier. The morning of the cruise, visit the Safety section of the cruise line app and watch the life jacket instructions video and listen to the emergency horn. Then once onboard the ship, visit your muster station, which is listed in the cruise line app or on your Seapass card. A crew member will verify you’ve completed both steps and complete your drill, or they will help you to complete all the steps. We can’t set sail until all passengers have completed muster so don’t be the one holding up the party!

Luggage

When you get to the port, the luggage is given to the luggage handlers to put onto the ship. In your cruise documents, you can print special luggage tags which identify your cabin and it’s location on the ship. It’s best to have these attached when you get to the port to save time and make boarding easier. If you don’t have your luggage tags, a luggage handler can help you with this at the pier. The bags should arrive in your cabin before dinner. Talk to your room attendant onboard if you don’t receive them by dinner.

Phone Service

You will want to call your provider and see what the plan is for service from the Caribbean. If you have your phone on the ship you can get their satellite feed but again – very expensive in addition to your provider charges. The charges for the phones in your cabin are truly outrageous and only for emergencies! Hey, you’re on VACATION!!

Carry On Luggage

Carry ALL your valuables, medications, and important documents with you. This includes your cruise documents, SetSail Pass, Passport, Photo ID, Credit Cards, and any other identification you might need. There is a time lapse before we have our luggage in our cabins, so put the things you need for the first few hours of the cruise in your carry-on luggage as well.

At the Pier

For the smoothest embarkation, follow the check-in time you selected when you completed your online Check In. You must check in before all aboard, approximately 90 minutes prior to the ship’s scheduled sailing time. The specific time can be found in your cruise documents. If you have not completed check in by all aboard, you will be considered a no show and your reservation will be cancelled without a refund! When you check in with a Pier Agent at the port, your identification and travel documents, including any required visas, will be checked against what you have entered when checking in ahead of time. It is your responsibility to ensure you have all the proper travel documents. Having your SetSail / Boarding Pass handy, printed or on your phone, will make this a quick process.  If you didn’t check in previously online, you can check in at the pier, but boarding will take a little longer.

Internet

Internet packages can be pre-purchased through your account on the cruise line website or app, or you can purchase a package onboard. Packages are per user and can be for up to four devices. In order to make sure that your phone provider doesn’t charge high roaming fees while at sea, turn on Airplane mode on your phone, and then connect to the ship Wi-Fi. You don’t need to purchase a Wi-Fi package to use the cruise line app while onboard.

Alcohol

You are able to bring on board one bottle of wine each for use in your cabin. If you take it to drink outside your cabin, you might be charged a corkage fee. If you buy liquor in any of our ports, it will be held for you by the cruise line until you leave the ship.

Duty free on the ship is available but delivered just before you leave the ship, so you can’t have it in your cabin. You will find some good deals though. Drink packages are available for your cruise. Check out all the choices under your account on the cruise line website for the sailing.
